Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She is an actor from Romania and Germany. Her most famous films are Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. Alexandra began her showbiz career early. Her roles included lead characters in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. Her critically acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the secretary of Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge from the critically and commercially popular Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The other Oscar nominated films featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra has been associated with numerous important projects both locally as well as internationally. Some of these include the British biographical movie Control, the Greek drama film The Dust of Time, and French historical miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she is a jury member at two festivals: The Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
