Amal Clooney
Amal Clooney was born Amal Ramzi Alamuddin, is an English-Lebanese barrister, human rights advocate and philanthropist. She has graduated from Oxford University School of Law as well as New York University School of Law. Her long career has earned her international acclaim for her achievements in international law and in the field of human rights. The most prominent clients she worked with were countries like Armenia who were fighting for the recognition of Armenian Genocide in Turkey. Amal Clooney was engaged in 2014, and then was married in 2015 to American actor George Clooney. She instantly became a household word. Before her marriage, she was admired and well-known in legal circles because of her success in defending clients. From tackling human and social rights concerns and representing multinational corporations in court proceedings and negotiations concerning federal regulations. Since 2015 she served as a barrister at British court within Doughty Street Chambers.
